PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING POLICY

1. POLICY STATEMENT

Edge FA Football Academy is committed to ensuring all photography and filming activities are conducted safely, responsibly and in accordance with safeguarding and data protection requirements.

2. PURPOSE

To establish clear guidance for the use, storage and sharing of photographs and video recordings involving children and young people participating in Edge FA activities.

3. SCOPE

This policy applies to all players, parents, carers, coaches, volunteers, staff, contractors, photographers, media representatives and visitors involved with Edge FA Football Academy activities.

4. PRINCIPLES

• Welfare of children comes first.

• Consent must be respected.

• Images must never place a child at risk.

• Data protection legislation must be followed at all times.

5. CONSENT

All Edge FA Football Academy members register through the ClassForKids registration platform. Parents and carers complete media consent preferences during registration and may consent to photography, consent to video recording, or opt out entirely. The academy maintains consent records through ClassForKids and staff will be informed of any opt-outs.

6. PARENT PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING

Parents and carers must not take photographs or video recordings during training sessions unless permission has been granted by the academy.

7. MATCHDAY PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING

Photography and filming at matches may only take place where permission has been obtained from both participating clubs and all consent requirements have been checked.

8. PROHIBITED PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography and filming are prohibited in changing rooms, toilets, medical treatment areas and areas where privacy is expected.

9. STORAGE & SECURITY

All academy-held photographs and recordings must be securely stored and accessible only by authorised personnel.

10. REPORTING CONCERNS

Any concern regarding photography, filming or image misuse must be reported immediately to the Club Welfare Officer.

11. DATA PROTECTION

All images and recordings will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

12. MONITORING & REVIEW

This policy will be reviewed annually or following safeguarding incidents, legislative changes or updated FA guidance.

This policy is reviewed annually by Edge FA Football Academy.
